Description
The Vilnius Cultural Center "Kablis" stands out for its unique and memorable appearance. This building, which is an example of Soviet architecture, is decorated with massive columns and a triangular pediment, and its facade is crowned by a huge rusty metal hook. Bright graffiti dedicated to musical themes can be seen on the windows.
Previously, this building served as the Railway Workers' Cultural Center and is located just a few minutes' walk from the railway station. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it functioned for a long time as a place for rock concerts, and its basements were used for band rehearsals. At some point, squatters settled here. There was also an attempt to set up a casino in the building, but it was unsuccessful, and subsequently a paintball court was even set up here.
